Schedule Overview
Each session follows a three-part structure:
Study – Engage with scripture, discussion, and learning activities.
Practice – Apply the learning through teaching, role-playing, or discussion.
Set a Goal – Write a personal commitment to apply the principles learned.
Time Session Lesson Focus
8:00 – 8:30 AM Breakfast & Fellowship, Informal introductions, light breakfast, and time to set a spiritual tone.
8:30 – 8:45 AM, Opening Devotional, Hymn, prayer, and a spiritual thought focused on the call to missionary work.
8:45 – 10:15 AM, Session 1: Missionary Purpose & Gospel Teaching, PMG Chapter 1 and Chapter 3 Overview
10:15 – 10:30 AM, Break, Refreshments
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM, Session 2: Teaching by the Spirit & the Book of Mormon, PMG Chapters 4 & 5
12:00 – 12:45 PM Lunch Break , Relaxed meal and informal conversation
12:45 – 2:15 PM, Session 3: Practice Teaching , PMG Chapter 3 – Helps for Teaching
2:15 – 2:30 PM, Break, Refreshments
2:30 – 3:30 PM, Session 4: Adjusting to Missionary Life , PMG Chapter 12
3:30 – 4:00 PM, Final Thoughts & Closing Prayer, Testimonies, encouragement, and prayer
Study: Read and discuss PMG Chapter 1 and Chapter 3 overview. Use Matthew 28:19–20 and D&C 11:21 as study anchors. Talk about the power of teaching with clarity and conviction.
Practice: Roleplay sharing the missionary purpose. In groups, summarize and teach a principle from one PMG lesson.
Set a Goal: Write your own missionary purpose statement. Choose a gospel principle to focus on studying this week.
Study: Read and discuss PMG Chapters 4 & 5. Study John 14:26 and 2 Nephi 33:10–11. Talk about how the Spirit and Book of Mormon guide conversion.
Practice: Practice teaching a principle while listening for spiritual promptings. Share a favorite Book of Mormon verse. Roleplay using the Book of Mormon in teaching.
Set a Goal: Write how you will seek the Spirit more purposefully. Identify someone to share a Book of Mormon scripture with this week.
Study: Review PMG Chapter 3 Helps for Teaching. Discuss what makes a gospel message effective.
Practice: Teach a 5-minute gospel lesson in pairs to a 'practice investigator.' Rotate and receive feedback.
Set a Goal: Choose one teaching skill to improve and write a personal improvement plan.
Study: Read and discuss PMG Chapter 12. Study Alma 17:2–3. Talk about missionary challenges and how to prepare spiritually and emotionally.
Practice: Roleplay common missionary challenges. Share helpful tools for emotional resilience.
Set a Goal: Write down 2–3 habits that will help you prepare mentally and spiritually for your mission.
Invite testimonies or impressions from participants. Share a final spiritual challenge or invitation. Optional hymn: “I Hope They Call Me on a Mission.” End with a closing prayer.
